Jon Krakauer (2011). Into The Wild. London: Pan Books.

krak-wildOur homeless project reminded me of one of my favourite books of all time, it’s based on the life of Chris McCandles, a young man who gave his savings to charity, abandoned his possessions, burnt his remaining cash and moved to the Alaskan Wilderness, to live a life of adventure and independence. We are taken through the incredible journey of how he fulfilled his desires outside of society before being found starved to death four months later.

Into The Wild, 2007. [DVD] Sean Penn, US: River Road Entertainment

I found the film before the book which left me with questions that were answered by reading it. I’ve lost count of how many times i’ve watched it.
