Movement

Previously, i have produced scans that are soft and still. This isn’t a true representation of how i see my hands anymore and if i carried on portraying them this way, trichotillomania may become misinterpreted and romanticised. The disorder isn’t a recognised and natural response and so when i incorporated movement into the scanning process, the results were unnatural shapes that show how disturbing my hands can be.

I have also considered moving on from plaster and sculpting these hand gestures into clay or perhaps bronze, my only concern is that this might not add any more significance to the pieces and will be the same thing in another material.
